Music Ministry

Our JUNIOR CHOIR sings at our family services and at special services through the year. Our SENIOR CHOIR, small but enthusiastic, provides musical leadership at the 9:15am services and seasonal services. Both choirs are supported at times by our talented INSTRUMENTAL GROUP of highschool-aged young people.

Guilds and Groups

The ALTAR GUILD provides the necessary altar services. This guild works with a similar group from the Riverside United Church to ensure that the worship space is prepared for all services.
The SERVERS GUILD consists of a group of young people, two of whom are in attendance each Sunday at the 9:15am service. This group meets from time to time for training and fellowship.
The LADIES GUILD is a small but dedicated group who have a large outreach ministry in the parish. From special events like the Christmas Bazaar and the Book/Yard Sale, considerable funds are made available to a host of outreach ministries in the wider church and within the local community. Members are occasionally asked to host special events in the parish and on behalf of the Church community.
The CRAFT GROUP meets weekly to make quilts and other crafts which are sent to the Bales For The North and our own bazaar.
The popular MEN'S GROUP meets for breakfast on the second Saturday of each month. The group promotes fellowship, and offers a variety of help to the Church and any other groups needing assistance. The breakfasts are not Cholesterol-free but do include a guest speaker who is always able to bring new insights on interesting and varied topics, and are very informal. We always end by 9:30am and visitors are always welcome.
Upcoming Speakers and Details can be found on the Rector's Page
Our three LIFE (Learning, Insight, Fellowship & Encouragement) GROUPS meet once a week at the homes of various parish members. The Serendipity House Series is used for study and there is a social time at the beginning of each meeting. Each group provides opportunity for exploring the meaning of the scriptures for daily life in a supportive community. Two groups meet in the evening (Mondays or Wednesdays) and one group meets on Wednesday mornings.

Our Joint Church

The JOINT HOLDING CORPORATION refers to the Riverside Churches Inc., which holds title to the building and furnishings on behalf of the two churches sharing the premises, namely the Church of the Resurrection (COR) and Riverside United Church (RUC). The two parishes are equal partners.
The JOINT USE COMMITTEE involves both COR and RUC, and handles the maintenance of the property, buildings and furnishings. This committee meets each month and its role is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the building. This committee has equal representation from both congregations, elected annually by the respective church bodies.
